My name is Kate and this is my homeroom. Teaching isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am.
Hi, I’m Kate — a qualified teacher with over a decade of experience helping children learn, grow, and discover what they’re truly capable of.
I’ve taught across primary, first, and middle schools in Dorset, worked as an ESL instructor in Japan and online, and tutored children in their own homes and mine. That breadth of experience has taught me one thing above all else: every child is different, and every child deserves to feel happy, understood, and capable. I left classroom teaching when it stopped fitting my family life — but I never lost my love of learning. In fact, I recently taught myself to code, because for me, learning has always been one of life’s great joys.
I bring warmth, energy, and a genuine understanding of how children think and feel to every session. I know first-hand that children learn best when they feel truly seen — when lessons are shaped around the way their mind works, not the other way around. My aim is simple: to help every child find the wonder within themselves, and to send them back into the world a little more confident, a little more curious, and a little more ready to shine.
